Biblical, battle-tested, real-life help for "living by faith in the Son of God" (Galatians 2:20). — Steve Fuller

Hold On To God’s Promises (4-Min Worship Video)

Late night email

Last night I received an email from a leader at Mercy Hill.

He mentioned this song by Sanctus Real, and wondered if it would be the next worship video I posted here at Living By Faith Blog.

When I listened to it — I loved it.

So I’m sharing it today (thanks, Brandon!).

Hold on to the Promises

I love this song is because it talks about God’s promises.

This is crucial — because faith means trusting all that God PROMISES to be to us in Christ Jesus (Rom 4:20-21; 2Co 1:20; 2Pet 1:4).

So if we are not focused on a biblical promise — our faith will be vague and wimpy at best.

That’s why one of the most important steps to grow in faith is learning God’s promises in the Word.

This song mentions two promises —

Romans 8:28

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.

This is stunning.

God causes everything in your life to bring you great good — especially the good of seeing more of His glory so we are conformed into His image (Rom 8:29; 2Cor 3:18; 2Cor 4:6).

And —

Romans 8:31,38-39

If God is for us, who can be against us … neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, not things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Whoa.

God’s love is IN everything you will ever face — ordaining everything to bring you the heart-satisfying joy of knowing Him now and forever.

So —

Hold on to the promises.

(And let me know how this song impacts you — thanks!)

Exactly what I needed to hear this morning. Very encouraging. I couldn’t stop crying, and reminiscing on all the past promises of God’s mighty love in my life. He has never left me nor forsaken me.

      Hi Paula,

Isn’t it comforting to see that God never, ever leaves us or forsakes us. What a salvation we have in Christ!

Press on in trusting Him, sister.

      In Christ,

      Steve Fuller
