How Jesus Frees Us From Fear (4-Min Video — With French Fries)
What can you do when you are gripped by fear?
Jesus Christ promises to free us (Psa 34:4; Isa 26:3; Phil 4:6-7).
But how does He free us? And what’s our part?
Here’s an illustration that’s helped me understand —
- why we feel fear,
- how Jesus frees us from fear,
- and what’s our part in the process.

Our family so appreciated this post! We were blessed by it and also send it to a couple of friends that we thought might be blessed by it as well and posted it on our blog! This concept is so amazing! Why is it that we tend to focus more on those french fries in the little bowl instead of all that we have in Christ Jesus? In Psalm 63 verse 3 it says that God’s love is even better than life! And in verse 5 that our souls will be fully satisfied in God as if we were enjoying the best of the best in this life, which we are in Christ! He is the best of the best! 🙂 Thanks so much for another encouraging post! You are such a blessing!
Thanks again for your encouragement, Breanna. I’m glad you found this helpful — and thanks also for sharing the Psalm 63 reference which puts this truth so powerfully.
He is worth it all!

You always know what and how to say. You remind me not to hunger for the world..or fries-but to hunger for Jesus Christ. I always appreciate your blogs.
Thank you for your encouragement, Jeanting!
Thank you so much for your practical, step by step solutions. So many people tell us to do whatever…but don’t say how to do that. Such as casting our burdens on Jesus…do you have any tips for that? Thanks much!
I am a 53 year old British man who has many worries. Of late they have become cumulative to a degree that has sometimes left me feeling panic stricken. Much of it revolves around money worries and caring for my elderly mother who is becoming increasingly disabled due to arthritis. In despair I typed Psalm 55:22 into my search engine. Your ‘Living by Faith’ blog was the first find I explored. I have just finished listening to your ‘How Jesus Frees Us From Fear’ video. I know God was guiding me. Thankyou so much.
Thank you so much for your posts on fear and anxiety. I don’t remember how I was led to your blog, but your blog posts have been such an encouragement to me! I suffer almost daily from pain and panic attacks (up at 1:50am right now after an attack woke me). I finally feel I have someone who truly understands my struggles and can help me slowly overcome my sin of unbelief. I’ve been going about it all wrong up to now. After months of reading your blog, I finally have left a comment. Thank you for your honesty and willingness to be this open with your struggles. Your choice of verses and your applications have been most helpful as admonishments. Thank you for your work!
You are so welcome, Mary. Thank you for letting me know.
Thank you for reminding me
Lovely, encouraging, honest videos. Thank you for the good job of uplifting You are doing in Christ!!
