I love this quote. Spurgeon made His birth real. Last Christmas, after reading about the birth of Jesus in Luke, I was suddenly struck by how utterly Jesus humbled Himself to become a man. He was born a baby. His soft head plates pressed together in a narrow birthing canal. He gasped for a breath of air. He was covered with blood and birth fluids. He was totally dependent upon a woman for nourishment. Amazing! God-Man! How I have been humbled as these thoughts have returned to me. O’ Love of God!
