How The World Gives Us Evidence For God
Some people think the idea of God-as-creator is something we jump to because we don’t know how the universe got here.
And they think it’s wrong to make that jump because, given enough time, science will end up answering that question.
But the Bible does not encourage us to believe in God because of what we DON’T know about the world. It encourages us to believe in God because of what we DO know.
Clearly Perceived
That’s what Paul says in Romans 1:20 —
For [God’s] invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.
It’s not that we believe in God because we can’t explain the world around us. It’s that the world around us show that there is a God.
In other words, we don’t believe in God because we lack answers; we believe in God because we have evidence. Here’s an example.
Digesting Food
Think of what you ate recently. Maybe it was a banana, or a hamburger, or a bowl of oatmeal.
Inside of you there is a chemical processing plant is processing that banana, hamburger, or oatmeal into the energy, protein, and nutrients your body needs.
While you are reading this post, your body is adding exactly the right type and amount of chemicals, enzymes, and acids to digest your food, without you even thinking about it.
No one has on their to-do list — Digest breakfast. No one ever has to say — Oops. Forgot to add an enzyme.
So where do systems that are so organized, functional, and complex come from?
A Chemical Processing Plant
Imagine you were driving and saw a sign which said — Banana, Hamburger, and Oatmeal Processing Plant.
And behind the sign you see a complex but organized system of pipes, valves, dials, and storage tanks which turn bananas, hamburgers, and oatmeal into energy, protein, and nutrients.
Would you wonder — how did that chemical processing plant come to be?
Would you ask — could it have been made by chance actions and reactions over billions of years?
No. No one would think that. Because we all know — organized, complex systems don’t come about by chance. They come from intelligent beings who design and build them.
So when you saw that chemical processing plant, you would know — someone built it.
Back To You
Each of us has a digestive system far more organized, functional, and complex than anything we are capable of designing.
And we know — organized and complex systems don’t come about by chance. They come from intelligent beings who design and build them.
So we have every reason to believe that our digestive system came from an intelligent being — not just from any intelligent being, but from an intelligent being with the wisdom and power to create us.
From God.

Very Interesting. Great read! Love the part
“So we have every reason to believe that our digestive system came from an intelligent being — not just from any intelligent being, but from an intelligent being with the wisdom and power to create us.”
Please do Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much for your encouraging words, Simon.
