How To Gain Spiritual Strength (4-min worship video)

Wait Upon the LordNeed Spiritual Strength?

I did — this last Sunday morning.

Over the past couple days some unexpected trials hit, and I was feeling shaky, fearful, and nervous.

I was not sure God loved me.  I was not sure He was rejoicing to do me good.  I was not sure He was going to give me everything I needed.

Every Christian will have times like this.

So What Can We Do?

Here’s what Isaiah tells us —

They who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.  (Isa 40:31)

Here God promises that if we will wait for the Lord, He will renew our strength.

That means He will change our hearts so we see His control over everything, feel His love for us, and know He will give us everything we need in Christ.

When that happens we will be like an eagle who catches an updraft and soars high into the skies.

And God will do that — if we will wait for the Lord.

What Does That Mean?

What is waiting for the Lord?

It’s not like waiting for a taxi — tapping our foot — wondering when God is going to come.

No, waiting for the Lord means setting our hearts on God as He is revealed in His Word.  It means expectantly looking to His promises.   It means praying over His promises until we feel the Holy Spirit changing our hearts — and we see and feel who God is.

When that happens, we will be strengthened — freed from fear, filled with peace, and assured of God’s love.

So try that now with this 4-minute worship song —

The Everlasting God

This song helps us wait upon the Lord by giving us powerful descriptions of who God is.

So set some time aside to pray.  Ask God to strengthen you.  And listen to this song, paying special attention to what it says about God.

Watch how God fulfills His promises and strengthens you as you wait upon Him.

Then in the comments section below let me know what God does in your heart.

Enjoy —

    Hi Steve,

What I really like about your blog is your basic honesty and you being unafraid to put yourself out there.

Thank you again for all the blessings you bring into my life.

this helped me look up and remember that I can wait upon God.

I am going through a trial and i am discouraged and sad.

I liked looking at the pictures of nature and especially the sky in this song.

      God is everlasting and true!

    Steve:

I really needed a reminder like this song you shared in your blog. Sometimes I just feel so overwhelmed by the crazy things in life that confront us. It’s tough enough when it’s just one thing but when I am confronted by many things at once- I, for one, can easily loose my footing. Thanks for sharing this song. It helped my to remember that the Lord will indeed strenghteng me as I deal with many discouragements at once. Once again your blog has been a valuable part of my devotions. Thanks again Steve.

I have been sick for over a year and I am struggling with my faith.I want to be able to overcome my doubts but I don’t know how.

    Thanks Kevin

    • Steve Fuller says:

      Hi Kevin,

I am so sorry to hear about your sickness. The best suggestions I’ve got are in the column “Check Here For More Help” under “Problems or Trials.”

Let me know if those raise any questions, and I will pray for you right now.

      In Christ,

      Steve Fuller
